Trump Directs Steps for the Release of US Documents on Aliens and UFOs

Trump instructs US agencies to get ready for the release of government documents regarding aliens and UFOs following comments made on a podcast by Obama.

Donald Trump has instructed US government agencies, including the Department of Defense, to start preparing for the release of files concerning aliens, extraterrestrial life, and unidentified aerial phenomena, in light of renewed public discussion prompted by remarks from former President Barack Obama.

On Thursday, Trump posted on Truth Social, stating that due to the significant interest expressed, he would pursue the release of files pertaining to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and all other information associated with these intricate yet fascinating and crucial topics.

Earlier in the day, while addressing reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump alleged that Obama had revealed classified information during a podcast appearance.

“That’s not something he should be doing,” Trump remarked. “He committed a significant error.”

When questioned about his personal belief in the existence of aliens, Trump responded: “Well, I don’t know if they’re real or not.”

He later mentioned that although many individuals hold beliefs about the existence of aliens, he rarely engages in discussions on the subject and “doesn’t have an opinion on it.”

The row comes after an interview Obama had with podcast host Brian Tyler Cohen, which was released last Saturday. During the conversation, he stated, “They’re real, but I haven’t seen them, and they’re not being kept in Area 51.”

He went on to say, “There’s no underground facility unless there’s this vast conspiracy and they’ve concealed it from the president of the United States.”

Following the attention his remarks received, Obama provided clarification on his stance in a subsequent post on Instagram.

“During my presidency, I found no proof that extraterrestrials have reached out to us.” “Really!” he wrote.

Obama, who held the presidency from 2009 to 2017, later clarified that he was speaking about the statistical probability of life existing elsewhere in the universe, considering its immense scale. No evidence suggests that he depended on classified information when making his remarks.

Interest in UFOs and extraterrestrial life has increased significantly recently. In 2017, it was revealed that the Pentagon had established a previously undisclosed program to investigate sightings reported by US military pilots and personnel.

In 2022, Congress conducted its first public hearings on UFOs in half a century, following which the Pentagon committed to increased transparency and established a dedicated office to gather and analyze reports of military encounters with unidentified aerial phenomena.

A panel from the US House of Representatives investigating the matter in 2023 yielded no significant discoveries or validation of extraterrestrial existence. A report from the Pentagon in 2024 stated that there was “no evidence” of the US government encountering extraterrestrial beings, noting that the majority of reported UFO sightings were attributed to ordinary objects.

Trump’s recent directive indicates a renewed effort to declassify government records on the topic, amidst ongoing political and public intrigue regarding the potential for life beyond Earth.
