Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been released while the police continue their investigation at Royal Lodge

Authorities are still conducting a search at Royal Lodge as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor makes his way back to Sandringham Estate amid a continuing misconduct investigation.

Thames Valley Police detectives have restarted searches at Royal Lodge in Berkshire after the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

The former duke was released while under investigation and made his way back to the Sandringham Estate after a period in custody. Being released under investigation indicates that he is not subject to any bail conditions; however, he may be reinterviewed or rearrested as the inquiries progress.

King Charles III stated, “The law must take its course,” and he affirmed complete cooperation with the authorities. He was not notified about the arrest beforehand and will refrain from making any further comments while the process is ongoing. It is believed that Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, are in favor of his comments.

The arrest comes after an evaluation of claims associated with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and has not addressed requests for comments on specific allegations.

Investigators continue their work at Royal Lodge as they assess whether there is enough evidence to forward the case to the Crown Prosecution Service.
