Victor Osimhen speaks out regarding his departure from Napoli

Victor Osimhen has candidly addressed the factors leading to his exit from Napoli. During an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nigerian striker revealed that a video posted by the club, which ridiculed his missed penalty, served as a turning point for him.

He expressed a sense of being targeted, disrespected, and subjected to insults, including racist abuse, which rendered it impossible for him to maintain a healthy working environment, even with Antonio Conte’s wish to retain him.

Osimhen acknowledged interest from Juventus and other Italian clubs, stating that such inquiries naturally prompt a player to reflect. Nevertheless, he stated that Napoli’s unwillingness to support a transfer compelled him to seize control of his future.

The striker, now at Galatasaray, expresses that he has rediscovered his peace and is entirely dedicated to excelling at the highest level, especially in the Champions League, all while honoring the supporters of Napoli.
