Hillary Clinton asserts that the Trump administration is delaying the release of Epstein files
Hillary Clinton has accused the Trump administration of “slow-walking” the release of Epstein files and is calling for immediate full public disclosure.
Hillary Clinton, the former US secretary of state, has charged the Donald Trump administration with a “cover-up” regarding its management of documents associated with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
During the annual World Forum, Clinton stated that officials are “slow-walking” the release of documents and urged authorities to make the material fully public.
“Retrieve the files,” she instructs. “They are proceeding at a leisurely pace.”
The White House dismisses the allegation, asserting that it has provided thousands of pages and worked in tandem with congressional requests, further stating that the administration has “done more for the victims than Democrats ever have.”
The US Department of Justice asserts that it has adhered to the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was enacted by Congress earlier this month; however, certain lawmakers contend that the disclosure remains insufficient. Republican Representative Thomas Massie advocates for the release of further internal memos that outline previous charging decisions.
Epstein passed away in a New York prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, over a decade after admitting guilt to soliciting prostitution from a minor.
Clinton discusses the issue of Prince Andrew potentially testifying before Congress, stating that anyone who is requested to testify ought to comply. Being mentioned in the files does not imply any wrongdoing, and Andrew has consistently refuted any allegations of misconduct.
Clinton and former president Bill Clinton are set to testify before the House Oversight Committee later this month following the postponement of a planned contempt vote. Both individuals assert that they were unaware of Epstein’s crimes at the time and have not faced accusations of misconduct from survivors.
In response to Clinton’s comments, Trump stated to the BBC that he has “nothing to hide,” asserting that he cut ties with Epstein many years ago and has been cleared of any involvement.
