Nottingham Forest has appointed Pereira as their new manager following the sacking of Dyche

Nottingham Forest announced on Sunday that former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Vitor Pereira will assume the role of head coach on an 18-month contract following the dismissal of Sean Dyche.

The Portuguese coach marks Forest’s fourth permanent manager this season, following Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, and Dyche.

Dyche was relieved of his duties after 114 days at the helm, with Wednesday’s goalless Premier League draw against bottom-placed Wolves marking his last game in charge.

Pereira will commence his responsibilities in Thursday’s Europa League match against the Turkish team Fenerbahce, as Forest seeks to establish stability following a record of just three wins in their last 13 matches.

Pereira was dismissed by Wolves earlier this season in November following a winless streak of 10 games, signifying his sixth consecutive year departing from a managerial position.

The 57-year-old has experienced managerial roles in five different countries since 2020, overseeing teams such as Shanghai SIPG, Fenerbahce, Corinthians, Flamengo, and Al Shabab before taking the helm at Wolves in December 2024; however, his tenure at Molineux was brief, lasting just 11 months.

Forest currently ranks 17th in the league standings following a three-game winless streak, positioned just one place above the relegation zone, with 12 matches remaining to ensure their top-flight status.
