Da Brat and Judy Dupart Address Disturbing Death Threats Targeting Their Young Son
The couple shares their experiences regarding the challenges of social media after their IVF journey.
Ensuring a child’s safety is the foremost concern for every parent, but for Da Brat and her wife, Jessica “Judy” Dupart, that responsibility turned into a critical situation. The couple recently recounted the challenging experience of managing fame while raising their son, True Legend, disclosing that they faced death threats following the announcement of using a white sperm donor to conceive their child.
A personal family decision revealed on their reality show, “Brat Loves Judy,” unexpectedly led to a surge of online hostility directed at their innocent toddler.
During a recent interview with Chicago’s 1075 WGCI, the couple clarified that their decision was based on medical necessity, not a lack of pride. Dupart emphasized that genetic compatibility was the key factor in their journey.
“To begin with, it’s my egg,” Dupart stated. “You need to undergo genetic testing, where you provide information about your genetic traits. This data is entered into a system, which then informs you about your compatibility with others.” Once we submitted my seven items, there were no Black individuals available. Dupart remarked that the couple “didn’t have a choice” in their selection and noted that couples facing similar circumstances must make “hard decisions,” highlighting that the limited availability of diverse donors in the system restricted their options.
The criticism ultimately escalated to a perilous level, shifting from mere dissent to focused intimidation. Da Brat acknowledged that the intensity of the hate was quite overwhelming. The couple faced death threats directed at their son, underscoring the harmful dynamics present in certain online communities. For the Chicago native, the threats became a pivotal moment that necessitated her withdrawal from social media to safeguard her peace.
“I had to pause my reading, I had to turn away from it,” she remembered. “I hail from Chicago.” I will arrive shortly.
In the face of daunting challenges, the couple stands together, committed to ensuring a secure and joyful life for True Legend.
