Kelly Rowland Shares Heartfelt Moments in Resurfaced Interview, Referring to Tina Knowles as Her “Matriarch”

The R&B icon pays tribute to her enduring connection with Mama T and the Destiny’s Child sisters who graciously shared their mother with her.

Kelly Rowland is sharing her emotions as she contemplates the profound connection she has with the Knowles family.

In a poignant segment from the Mama, I Made It! talk show hosted by Samantha Chatman, which first aired in December, Kelly opened up about the women who have supported her for many years. Although the interview occurred a few months back, her remarks regarding Tina Knowles, whom she lovingly refers to as “Mama T,” are now circulating on social media, serving as a reminder that family extends beyond mere blood relations.

Kelly spoke of a sisterhood that many only fantasize about, highlighting how Beyoncé and Solange have consistently embraced her as part of their family. “I can’t believe there’s someone who isn’t family that you insist [loves you like that]. Indeed. It’s not only her, as we are a community. It’s me, Solange, Beyoncé… They have a shared mother with me. Angie, we have our conversations at least on Tuesdays. It’s the kind of connection I wish for every woman to experience. We have experienced both the highs and the lows, the toughest moments; we have faced them all side by side. “I believe that’s what truly makes it remarkable,” Kelly expressed.

For her, this “tribe” has served as the foundation of her life, offering a sense of security and love that has endured the challenges of global superstardom.

The interview reached its most poignant moment when Kelly reflected on the loss of her mother and the support she received from Tina Knowles during that challenging time. Despite facing her own health challenges, Tina was unwavering in her support for Kelly. “Just like my Mama, T has witnessed my most unflattering moments.” She has witnessed the exquisite aspect. She has witnessed my journey into motherhood. She has observed me come to a conclusion. “She’s everything,” Kelly articulated. “When I lost my mom, I recall how unwell she was.” This woman boarded the plane and was there beside me to lay my mother to rest. She understood that it was a challenging shift. She did, yet she wished to be right there alongside me. And that is my matriarch.

The bond between Kelly and the Knowles family is undeniably strong, enduring through every milestone and tragedy they face together.
