Benzema nets a hat-trick in his debut for Al-Hilal

Karim Benzema netted a hat-trick and provided an assist in his debut for Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Hilal, leading them to a commanding 6-0 victory over the struggling Al-Akhdoud on Thursday.

The 38-year-old signed with Al-Hilal on Monday following reports that he declined an offer to renew his contract with Al-Ittihad, a club he joined on a free transfer in 2023 after spending 14 years with Real Madrid.

The ex-France striker quickly made his presence felt for his new team, elegantly opening the scoring with a back-heel flick after capitalizing on a loose ball in the box just past the half-hour mark.

Benzema increased the lead with a low, close-range shot in the 60th minute, and just four minutes later, he secured his hat-trick with another effort from close range.

The Frenchman assisted Malcom for Al-Hilal’s fourth goal, just before being substituted in the 71st minute. “It was an important game today.” “We are pleased, playing well, achieving a clean sheet, and scoring brings us joy,” Benzema stated. “Everyone is supportive, giving their all, so when I step onto the pitch, I give my all for them,” he continued.

Salem Al-Dawsari, honored as the AFC Player of the Year for 2025, capped off the victory with two goals.
