The CAF Executive Committee is set to convene in Dar es Salaam for an important regulatory review
The Confederation of African Football is scheduled to convene an Executive Committee meeting on February 13 at the Hyatt Regency in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe presiding over the important session. A press conference will take place right after the meeting, during which important outcomes and decisions are anticipated to be shared.
The meeting takes place weeks after Dr. Motsepe announced on January 30 that an Executive Committee meeting had been scheduled. The ExCo, as CAF’s foremost decision-making entity beyond the General Assembly, is anticipated to concentrate on essential governance issues impacting African football.
A key focus of the agenda will be a review of significant CAF Regulations, including the CAF Disciplinary Code. The aim is to enhance the authority of CAF Judicial Bodies by implementing more robust and deterrent sanctions for significant violations of CAF Statutes and Regulations, along with actions that compromise the reputation, integrity, and international standing of African football and CAF competitions. The meeting is regarded as an important advancement in CAF’s continuous endeavors to enhance governance, safeguard the integrity of the sport, and elevate standards throughout the continent.
