Lizzo defends Jay-Z amid Epstein file speculation: “Y’all Are Falling For It”

The singer is addressing social media users for “falling for the oldest trick in the book” following the rapper’s name appearing in a significant document leak.

Following the emergence of Jay-Z’s name in a significant new batch of documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein, the pop star turned to social media to support the Roc Nation mogul. Lizzo is encouraging everyone to consider the context before criticizing the rap legend, as the files have ignited a whirlwind of speculation.

Lizzo, in a straightforward video, shared her astonishment at how swiftly individuals leaped to conclusions without considering the facts.

“It’s similar to the remarks made by the American people.” I was certain he was mistaken, Jay-Z! I was convinced he was… What was mentioned about Jay-Z? “He was there in 1996?” she inquired. She suggested that the public is easily manipulated by name-dropping, stating, “Y’all are falling for it; it’s the easiest, oldest trick in the book.”

Lizzo not only stood up for Hov; she also critiqued the reasoning of social media users.

“Honestly, I’m starting to doubt the average intelligence of the American person because, really,” she expressed. She noted that in a file containing three million documents, the presence of a name does not necessarily indicate a criminal act. Lizzo indicated that the reference was not a scandal, but rather a straightforward business-related mention regarding his success model.

The singer, who has frequently addressed the media’s portrayal of public figures, once famously stated, “I’m not the villain that the media tries to make me out to be,” and it appears she’s offering that same understanding to Jay-Z. She concluded her tirade by urging fans to cease their search for a crime that does not exist. “Where is the offense?” “Concentrate!” she insisted.

As the public continues to review the documents, Lizzo is emphasizing that a reference in a business context should not be mistaken for being an accomplice.
