Baton Rouge School Counselor Accused of Sending Flirty Messages to 14-Year-Old Found Dead Prior to Arrest

Police say that this week, a Baton Rouge school worker who was the subject of a criminal probe was found dead.

Counselor at Westdale Middle Magnet School Quinton Dixon is said to have killed himself with a gun on Wednesday. He was found dead on the grounds of what used to be Glen Oaks Middle School, but is no longer open, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Authorities say Dixon sent inappropriate messages to a child, which led to the death. He is being charged with four counts of lewd behavior with a child, according to court records. An arrest warrant was ordered earlier this month.

From early November 2025 to early January 2026, the warrant says the alleged texts were sent to a 14-year-old student through Instagram. Authorities say Dixon kept talking to the girl even after she confirmed that she was in high school.

Dixon is said to have told the girl in a message that she was “cutting up to be so pretty,” which is part of the warrant’s information. Records from the police show that the message was flirty.

After the accusations, Dixon was put on leave by the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. The decision was made because the accusations were so serious, according to a statement given before his death. The school community was also told by the district that they were sorry for what happened and that kids and staff who were affected would be able to get counseling and other help.

Even though Dixon has died, the police haven’t said what they will do next in this case and say the investigation is over.
