Coach Trabelsi leaves Tunisia following their early AFCON exit
Tunisia’s head coach Sami Trabelsi has departed from his position, as announced by the country’s soccer federation on Sunday, following their elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations in the last 16.
The federation announced on Facebook that it had “chosen to end the contractual relationship by mutual agreement with the entire technical staff of the senior national team.”
The decision followed Tunisia’s defeat in a penalty shootout, where they lost 3-2 to 10-man Mali on Saturday, after the match concluded 1-1 following extra time.
