The daughter of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visits the state tomb in public

Ju Ae, the daughter of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, appears to be groomed as a potential successor. She joined her parents for her inaugural public visit to the Kumsusan mausoleum, where they paid respects to former leaders, as depicted in state media photos released on Friday.

Ju Ae has been making more frequent appearances in state media over the past three years, sparking speculation among analysts and South Korea’s intelligence agency that she could be positioned to become the country’s fourth-generation leader.

On January 1, Kim was joined by his wife, Lee Sol Ju, and senior officials during the visit, with Ju Ae standing between her parents in the main hall of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, as depicted in photographs from the state news agency KCNA.

According to state media on Thursday, Kim Ju Ae, thought to have been born in the early 2010s, participated in this year’s New Year celebrations. In September, she journeyed to Beijing with her father for her inaugural public overseas adventure.

Kim visits Kumsusan to pay tribute to his grandfather and state founder, Kim Il Sung, as well as his father, Kim Jong Il, on significant dates and anniversaries, reinforcing the dynastic legacy of the nuclear-armed nation.

Ju Ae’s age has never been confirmed by North Korea.
