Former child star Tylor Chase is back on the streets as police reveal problems after efforts to assist him

The former “Ned’s Declassified” actor has consistently faced homelessness, despite the efforts of loved ones and concerned supporters to help him find stable housing.

Authorities have confirmed that there is limited action they can take, as existing laws do not allow them to mandate Tylor Chase to enter a mental health or substance abuse treatment facility without his consent.

On Monday, a video emerged depicting Tylor Chase returning to the streets following his earlier placement on a 72-hour psychiatric hold by a mental health crisis team.

The former actor has recently been in the spotlight due to his homelessness, prompting earlier intervention.

Since returning to the streets, Chase seems to be in the same condition, underscoring his need for long-term care.

Unfortunately, without Chase’s approval, there is little that can be done, and officials indicate that their choices are constrained.

In a conversation with TMZ, Riverside Police Department spokesman Ryan Railsback stated that the law restricts their ability to assist, as Chase is not deemed gravely disabled or a threat to himself or others.

Railsback also observed that Tylor graciously turns down all offers of help and that homelessness in itself is not a criminal act.

“We cannot proceed with the kidnapping,” the spokesperson remarked regarding Chase.

Tylor Chase appears to lack interest in entering a rehab facility.

Initially, it appeared that Chase was finally finding a way off the streets after being placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold by a mental health crisis team.

TMZ reported that Chase would be taken to rehab once the hold concluded. Nevertheless, it seems he has chosen to refuse assistance, evident in his return to the streets.

Chase appeared to have left the hotel room that had been arranged for him by his “Ned’s Declassified” co-star Daniel Curtis Lee just a few days prior.

Lee reportedly traveled approximately 50 miles to meet Chase after a video of the former child star living on the streets gained widespread attention.

Upon checking into a hotel room, Chase reportedly caused significant damage within hours. Lee reported that hotel management called to inform that the door to the room was ajar, the fridge had been flipped over, and the microwave was in the tub.

Tylor Chase has previously indicated that he is not homeless.

Although Chase has been seen numerous times on the streets, he asserts that he is not homeless.

“That’s not quite accurate.” I possess both friends and family. I reside in this area. “My mom is here,” he shared with the Daily Mail, adding, “I have a lot of good people supporting me.”

Chase reaffirmed his position that he is not genuinely homeless, while also conveying his appreciation for those who have offered their support.

I have family and friends, along with the housing shelter assistance program. The kindness of God’s family is marked by a beautiful generosity. That’s a rather relaxed aspect of it all. “It’s undoubtedly a true privilege,” he added.

Tylor Chase’s co-star expresses that he requires ‘support’ and ‘patience.’

Chase’s condition has remained a source of concern for his former co-stars, with Devon Werkheiser recently expressing how heartbreaking it has been to witness him in this state.

“I haven’t seen Tylor in nearly two decades since the show concluded,” Werkheiser shared in a conversation with TMZ. “Those who have faced severe addiction and profound mental health challenges understand that it is an incredibly difficult circumstance when they are not seeking assistance.”

As we look to the future, Werkheiser expresses the view that Chase will require ongoing support from those close to him, and that it may take time and several efforts before meaningful change becomes evident.
