Anthony Joshua Escapes Car Accident on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway; Two Confirmed Dead
Anthony Joshua has survived a car crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, where at least two fatalities have been confirmed.
Former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua was involved in a road traffic accident on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway, with reports indicating that two individuals lost their lives in the incident.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotosho, reported that the accident took place along the Shagamu Exchange axis of the expressway. The Lagos State Government promptly sent an ambulance to the scene.
The Ogun State Police Command has also verified the incident, which took place near Sinoma and prior to the Danco area of Ogun State. Authorities reported that Joshua was involved in the accident and was transported to a local hospital for medical care.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident involved a Lexus Jeep and a parked truck close to the Danco Filling Station. Rescue officials confirmed that victims were removed from the wreckage and swiftly transported to the hospital.
Images from the scene depicted a shirtless Joshua standing among the wreckage, surrounded by supporters. Punch reports that eyewitnesses stated there were “Two dead” as a result of the accident, while Joshua suffered only minor injuries.
Adeniyi Orojo, a member of the rescue team, confirmed that emergency responders acted swiftly at the scene. Authorities from the police and traffic departments have stated that investigations are currently underway to ascertain the precise cause of the crash, emphasizing that information regarding casualties is still being confirmed.
Nine days after Joshua’s knockout of Jake Paul in an exhibition heavyweight bout at the Kaseya Centre in Miami, the incident took place. Joshua has been in Nigeria for a festive holiday since the altercation.
