Vince Zampella, the developer of Call of Duty Dies in a Ferrari Crash in Los Angeles
A single-vehicle Ferrari disaster on a Los Angeles freeway results in the death of Call of Duty producer Vince Zampella.
The developer of the immensely popular Call of Duty video game series, Vince Zampella, passed away Sunday in a single-vehicle collision on a highway in the Los Angeles area, according to a local news report. His age was 55.
On Monday, NBC Los Angeles was the first to report on Zampella’s passing. According to the outlet, officials from the California Highway Patrol’s Altadena Area office arrived at the site of a collision at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Angeles Crest Highway north of Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Mountains.
The driver’s identification has not been verified by CHP. The identify of the deceased passenger in the car has also been withheld. Notification of each deceased person’s next of kin is pending before public announcements are made.
In addition to being the former CEO of Infinity Ward, the company that created Call of Duty, Zampella led Respawn Entertainment.
