Muni Long Quits “The Boy Is Mine Tour” Due to Lupus Issues

The R&B singer talks about lupus and her ambitions for new songs.

Muni Long has taken the tough decision to leave Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine Tour” after weeks of touring across North America.

The singer said on Saturday that she is unable to continue performing due to persistent health concerns.

Long has already missed several gigs due to lupus, an autoimmune ailment, which she has been open about.

The effects of the tour were evident even during her most recent appearances. Sometimes she had trouble staying energized and had to sit in the middle of a set to finish her songs.

While Long focused on her health, R&B singer Mya filled in, giving fans a few performances earlier in the tour.

Fans hoped that Long would end the tour on a high note when she returned in early November, looking rejuvenated and determined. As the performances went on, it became clear that her ailment was still affecting her endurance in spite of her best attempts.

Long gave a personal explanation of her decision to leave the tour in a social media post.

“As many of you are aware, I have been dealing with some health problems during ‘The Boy Is Mine Tour.'” “My doctors have made it clear that it’s not safe for me to continue with the remaining dates of the tour, even though I’m trying my hardest to push through,” she wrote.

She also expressed her gratitude to Brandy and Monica for giving her the chance to participate in the tour and for helping her through her difficulties.

Long is still committed to her music profession even though she is stepping away from live concerts.

According to reports, she is working on a follow-up album to 2024’s “Revenge” and is still promoting her single “Delulu.”

While she takes time to heal and manage her lupus, fans can anticipate new releases.
