The incident happened at the Asian fusion restaurant Sei Less on West 38th Street in New York City early on November 16. According to reports, Boyd was having dinner with two teammates when the incident happened.
Authorities think the altercation may have begun after someone allegedly tried to take Boyd’s necklace, according to ABC 7 NY. Although the suspect’s identify and motivation are still unknown, surveillance footage of them has been made public.
According to ABC News and ABC 7 NY, Boyd was initially admitted to the hospital on November 17 after the bullet entered his belly and stuck in his right lung. In the aftermath, he had several surgeries.
Boyd has remained upbeat despite his setbacks.
Despite the difficulties of going back to the hospital, the Jets cornerback’s Instagram posts demonstrate his tenacity and resolve to get better.
