Five-star wide receiver Easton Royal has committed to Texas’ 2027 class

The Class of 2027’s top wide receiver, Easton Royal, announced his commitment to Texas on Saturday.

He is ranked as the third wide receiver in the class, a five-star prospect, and the 12th best player overall by the 247Sports composite.

The Longhorns were his first choice over schools like LSU, Ole Miss, and Oregon, despite receiving multiple offers from Power 4 programs.

On Friday night, Royal witnessed the No. 16 Longhorns overcome No. 3 Texas A&M, 27–17, after falling behind.

At New Orleans’ Brother Martin High School, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Royal is a student. According to ESPN, he caught 53 passes for 1,151 yards and 17 touchdowns this autumn.

He is the first person in the 2027 Texas recruiting class. The 247Sports composite ranks its 2026 class as the eighth best overall.
