Trump Says He Will Not Allow Immigration From “Third World Countries” Following Attack Near the White House

Trump reveals a plan to indefinitely halt migration from what are referred to as Third World Countries following a deadly attack attributed to failures in the vetting process.

On Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced that his administration will implement a “permanent pause” on migration from all “Third World Countries,” following an attack near the White House that he linked to immigration vetting shortcomings during former President Joe Biden’s tenure.

Trump failed to specify any particular countries or elaborate on his definition of Third World Countries or the phrase “permanently pause.” He noted that the suspension would also impact cases that were approved during the Biden administration.

“I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the US system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s autopen, and remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States,” he stated on his social media platform, Truth Social.

He also stated his intention to terminate all federal benefits and subsidies for “non citizens,” further asserting that he would “denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility” and deport any foreign national deemed a public charge, security risk, or “non compatible with Western civilization.”

The White House and US Citizenship and Immigration Services have not yet provided a response to requests for comment.

Trump’s comments came after the death of a National Guard member who was shot near the White House in what investigators describe as an ambush executed by an Afghan national.

On Thursday, officials from the Department of Homeland Security announced that Trump had directed a comprehensive review of asylum cases that were approved during Biden’s administration, as well as Green Cards granted to citizens from nineteen countries.

A file from the US government reviewed by reporters reveals that the suspected gunman was granted asylum this year during Trump’s administration. Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan immigrant, arrived in the United States in 2021 via a resettlement program.

The programme was established by Biden following the US military withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021, leading to the swift collapse of the Afghan government and the subsequent takeover by the Taliban.

In a prior post before his announcement, Trump asserted that hundreds of thousands of individuals entered the United States completely “unvetted and unchecked” during what he described as the “horrendous” airlift from Afghanistan.

On Wednesday, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services announced the indefinite suspension of processing for all immigration requests concerning Afghan nationals.

“These goals will be pursued with the intention of achieving a significant decrease in illegal and disruptive populations,” Trump stated.
