Hamilton claims he has no regrets about switching to Ferrari
Lewis Hamilton retracted remarks that he was not looking forward to the upcoming season and stated he had no regrets about joining Ferrari.
After both McLarens were disqualified, the seven-time Formula One world champion finished in eighth place after starting last on the grid in Las Vegas on Sunday.
When the sport enters a new engine and rules period in 2026, he declared at the time that it was his worst season ever and that he was not looking forward to it.
The Briton admitted that there had been some good things in Qatar on Thursday, namely the team’s enthusiasm.
“I think probably I’d be surprised if other drivers are excited about next year at the end of a season, because usually you don’t have a lot of energy,” he said.
“You’re excited to spend time with your loved ones and other things. That’s it.
“But, you see, that was just out of sheer frustration. At the conclusion of the races, especially if things haven’t gone well, there is frequently a great deal of frustration. Therefore, I’m eager to work with the team and watch what they create the following year.”
Hamilton denied that his perspective would shift if the car had done better in the previous two races.
Hamilton hasn’t even placed on the podium since joining from Mercedes in January, and Ferrari is the only team in the top four to have lost a race this season.
Hamilton claimed that even if he had known how things would work out, he would still have written.
His response was, “I would, absolutely,” “I’m glad I decided to join the team. I anticipated that building and growing within an organization would take time.
“We have a lot of work to do, for sure, over the winter,” he stated. “We all need to develop in many ways, but I don’t think anyone on the team is deluded that we all have a role to play. Additionally, I think we can.
