Tanzanian Artist Itare Pushes Limits With “Itare,” Her Self-Titled Debut EP

Itaré, a rising independent Tanzanian artist, enters a new era of greatness with the release of his self-titled debut EP, “Itaré.” This daring artistic breakthrough is a pivotal point in his development and a potent statement of who he is becoming, solidifying Itare as a musical pioneer defying expectations.

Itaré’s distinctive emotional depth is weaved throughout the seven-track EP, which is a superb blend of Afrobeat, R&B, and contemporary world sounds. The EP has a vast yet personal feel, with each track providing a soulful, cinematic experience that highlights his ability to switch between genres with ease while remaining fundamentally Tanzanian.

Kane Keid (South Africa) and Tanzanian rap legend Joh Makini on “Where You Want,” Remee (India) on “Dangerzone,” WurlD (Nigeria) on “Whine,” and Tshego (South Africa) on “Milele” are among the most exciting voices on the continent. Their combined contributions elevate the project and enhance Itare’s distinctive sound through a smooth blending of cultures and styles.

Itaré says of the EP: “This project is the embodiment of who I am as an artist.” I came from an area where certain standards dictate how music “should” sound, but I made the decision to go outside those boundaries. Inspired by Africa and influenced by the world, these songs are my truth. This trip was made remarkable by working with partners who share that objective.

Going one step further, Itare will also release a short video that delves deeply into the EP’s inspiration. The story behind the songs, his artistic spirit, and his unwavering quest for musical development will all be captured in this film project.

Itaré is a movement rather than merely a compilation of music. It’s a new chapter for Itare and the sound of a new generation that embraces unbounded creativity, bringing together a variety of inspirations, and promoting African music internationally.
