Diddy was sent to serve his sentence at a low-security federal prison in New Jersey
Diddy is expected to be released from Fort Dix prison in New Jersey in 2028 after starting his 50-month sentence there.
To complete the remaining months of his 50-month sentence for crimes related to prostitution, American music entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs has been moved to the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Sources with knowledge of the case claim that Combs, who was found guilty on two charges of transporting someone to engage in prostitution, expressly asked to be placed at the low-security prison. He can be nearer to his family and take part in Fort Dix’s drug treatment program thanks to the move.
The 13 months that Combs has already been held in federal detention at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest in September 2024 will be used to his sentence. According to the US Bureau of Prisons, he is expected to be released on May 8, 2028, with additional credit from his involvement in therapy.
His defense team is requesting an expedited review by a federal appeals court, contesting both his conviction and sentence. Although a decision has not yet been made, US President Donald Trump acknowledged that Combs had asked for a presidential pardon.
Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice and other celebrities have been detained at Fort Dix, a low-security federal jail with basic amenities. At the commissary, inmates may buy rice cakes for $5.75, white tuna for $3.75, and Pop-Tarts for $2.85. Notably, however, applesauce, which one witness claimed Combs allegedly loved on cheeseburgers, is not listed.
The Grammy-winning musician and businessman’s case continues to garner national attention, and Combs’ relocation signals the start of a new chapter in it.
