WYDAD players each receive $6,000 after securing a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage
Wydad Athletic Club has granted their players a generous bonus of $6,000 each after successfully qualifying for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Moroccan giants secured their position with flair, initially achieving a challenging 1-0 away win against Ghana’s Asante Kotoko in Accra, followed by a commanding 5-1 victory over the Porcupine Warriors in Casablanca, culminating in a decisive 6-1 aggregate success.
Club sources indicate that the bonus package was designed to acknowledge the resilience demonstrated on the road as well as the impressive performance at home. Every player was awarded $4,000 for the vital away victory in Accra, along with an extra $2,000 for the commanding home display that ensured qualification.
Wydad’s management characterized the gesture as a dual purpose: a reward and a source of motivation for the team as they shift their attention to the group stage, aiming to reclaim their continental supremacy after just falling short in the CAF Champions League last season.
The club based in Casablanca has demonstrated a commanding performance thus far, sending a clear message to their continental rivals — Wydad is not only back, but they are also eager for silverware.
