Kagame is attending a significant investment meeting in Saudi Arabia
President Paul Kagame arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Monday, October 27, to participate in the 9th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9).
The three-day conference, themed “The Key to Prosperity: Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth,” brings together global leaders, prominent investors and innovators, industry captains, and policymakers from government, business, and technology.
Leaders are anticipated to participate in meaningful discussions and exchanges focused on creating a narrative centered around solutions for the future of investment and policy.
Upon arriving in Riyadh, Kagame was welcomed for a bilateral meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
“The discussions underscored the ongoing enhancement of cooperation between Rwanda and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in key sectors,” stated Village Urugwiro.
On the inaugural day of the investment forum, Kagame will engage in a Heads of State Conclave, exploring the inquiry, “What’s the true cost of economic security?”.
Kagame, together with the presidents of Guyana, Kosovo, Colombia, Bulgaria, Albania, and the Premier of Bermuda, will engage in a dialogue regarding the evolving landscape of trade initiatives and strategies to protect national interests while fostering collective prosperity. This discussion will be moderated by Matteo Renzi, Senator of the Italian Republic and Former Prime Minister of Italy.
The Head of State will participate in a panel discussion titled, “Is Humanity Heading in the Right Direction?”, featuring President Mohamed Irfaan Ali of Guyana, President Gustavo Petro of Colombia, Prime Minister Edi Rama of Albania, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif of Pakistan, along with Ray Dalio, Founder of Bridgewater Associates, and Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA.
Richard Attias, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Acting CEO of the Future Investment Initiative Institute, will moderate the discussion.
Since 2017, the FII Institute has served as an annual gathering for stakeholders focused on investing in enduring solutions to global challenges.
The forum centers on four key areas where inequalities are evident, aiming to collaborate on collective solutions: AI and Robotics, Education, Healthcare, and Sustainability.
