Taylor Swift Gives Her Reasons for Not Playing in the Super Bowl

Taylor Swift claims she is “too locked in” to her fiancé Travis Kelce’s “on-field” actions to be the main attraction at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The 35-year-old pop sensation was questioned if it was true that she declined a chance to perform at the NFL showpiece’s halftime concert since she didn’t own the video during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week.

Taylor, who is engaged to Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, 35, only grinned when asked. But she gave a detailed explanation of why she wouldn’t be able to perform the Super Bowl in a lengthy video that was posted to the late-night show’s official YouTube account.

Although she has never received a formal request to be the main performer, the Fate of Ophelia singer claims that her team frequently communicates with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, who organize and produce the Halftime Show.

“Our [business] teams are really close, and Jay-Z has always been very good to me,” she remarked. “How does she feel about [murmurs Super Bowl]?” is what they occasionally call, but it’s not the same as an official offer or a conference call.

Taylor says Travis would really like it if she got the job, but she cares too much about his performance in the “dangerous” sport.

According to her, “that [football] is violent chess.” Gladiators that don’t have swords are that. That is risky. The entire season, focused on that man’s performance on the field. Are you able to imagine? I ask myself, “What should my choreography be?” while he puts his life on the line every week while participating in this extremely risky, intense, and high-pressure activity.

“This isn’t related to Travis—he would really like it if I did it,” she insisted. But I’m just too confined.

On February 8, Bad Bunny will be the main act for the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Usher, and Kendrick Lamar have all been the main performers at the Halftime Show in the past.
