Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner are suing Ray J for defamation

The lawsuit cited his “willingness to lie for attention” and his alleged “animosity toward the Kardashian family”.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner are suing Ray J for allegedly defaming them by claiming that there was a federal investigation.

According to the Associated Press, the mother-daughter duo filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, October 1. Ray J’s latest accusations, they claimed, were excessive and part of a “sustained campaign of harassment and defamation” that had been ongoing for years.

The lawsuit claims that because Ray J could not accept the end of his brief relationship with Ms. Kardashian more than 20 years ago, he has consistently tried to associate himself with the names of Plaintiffs and exploit their fame for his personal gain.

Last month, audio of Ray J—real name Ray Norwood Jr.—claiming to be involved in a federal investigation into the two women was released.

The lawsuit also cited a May TMZ special in which Ray J stated that “if you told me that the Kardashians were being charged for racketeering, I might believe it” and that “racketeering charges against the Kardashians would be appropriate,” according to AP.

The complaint stated, “There is no such federal investigation; no law enforcement agency has started any criminal proceedings or investigations related to racketeering charges against Ms. Kardashian or Ms. Jenner; and there is absolutely no credible evidence whatsoever to support these inflammatory allegations.” 

The complaint continued by stating, “There is no question that Ray J’s recent RICO statements were neither reckless nor impulsive given his acknowledged animosity toward the Kardashian family and his proven willingness to lie for attention.” “They were the most recent round in a purposeful and malevolent campaign of harassment and defamation meant to discredit Plaintiffs and restore his own waning reputation.”

In response, Ray J claimed that the family attempted to make him a “slave.” The video above, taken from a Twitch live feed, shows the 44-year-old’s response to the lawsuit’s allegations.
