Diddy reportedly ‘froze like a statue’ upon hearing his sentence and destiny

Sean “Diddy” Combs was clearly taken aback in court when he was given a four-year prison sentence for prostitution-related offenses.

In order to account for time already spent, the music entrepreneur and his attorneys had hoped for a 14-month sentence.

However, after taking into account victim impact statements, letters of recommendation in support of Sean “Diddy” Combs, and evidence from charges that had previously been dropped, Judge Arun Subramanian ultimately handed a harsher sentence.

Diddy’s “Frozen” Reaction To The Cruelty

The rapper was not happy with the outcome of his long-awaited sentencing, which eventually took place on Friday, according to the Daily Mail.

He was sentenced to four years and two months in prison after being found guilty earlier this year of transporting individuals to commit acts of prostitution.

Despite numerous letters of recommendation from family members and other inmates who had nothing but positive things to say about him, the rapper reportedly looked “frozen like a statue,” as if he couldn’t believe he would be serving additional time behind bars.

When Judge Arun Subramanian delivered the sentence in the Manhattan courthouse, his family was also seen in the gallery, looking devastated.

In addition to his jail term, Diddy will also be subject to five years of supervised release and a hefty $500,000 fine.

The judge also explained his reasoning, claiming that Diddy had subjected his victims to “irreparable harm” and that “deterrence requires a significant sentence.”

On several instances, Diddy’s lawyers attempted to convince the judge to be forgiving.

During the hearing, the defense employed a variety of tactics to persuade Judge Subramanian to be more lenient toward Diddy.

They argued he was “not a pimp,” as the accusations of prostitution suggested.

“Pimps solely look for and recruit women in order to use them as prostitutes for other people. “He is not that man,” asserted Diddy’s lawyer Xavier Donaldson, who also alluded to the rapper’s drug problem as the reason for his antics.

“Before he began using drugs as that guy, he was committed and driven. He had an idealistic view of the world. “That individual is still alive,” he continued.

Diddy’s lawyer said that a traumatic event from his early years was the cause of his issues.

Later, Marc Agnifilo, Diddy’s lead attorney, attempted to convince Judge Subramanian that the rapper’s misbehavior was partially brought on by childhood trauma.

The lawyer said it was also linked to other alleged mental health conditions.

Additionally, Agnifilo requested that the judge take into account that the sentencing took place during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

“In its own way, Diddy’s case has helped increase public awareness of domestic violence,” he stated.

The prosecution characterized Diddy as a “master puppeteer of his own image”.

Throughout their rebuttal, the prosecution criticized Diddy’s lawyers’ claims that he is not a pimp.

What are pimps, actually? Victims are manipulated and exploited by pimps. The defendant in this case did just that, according to prosecutor Christy Slavik.

Slavik continued by calling the music mogul a “master puppeteer of his own image” and describing how he uses this technique.

“He uses his wealth and power to portray a very specific image to the world, but that image is incomplete and misleading,” she said.

Even if Diddy has apologized, Slavik said, he is still untrustworthy and unalterable.

“You can’t trust his words,” the lawyer insisted. “This case shows (that) behind closed doors, he wasn’t helping others, he was exploiting and violently abusing them.”
