Sean “Diddy” Combs was found guilty of prostitution and given a sentence of just over four years in prison

Diddy was convicted of transporting someone to participate in prostitution on two separate counts.

According to CNN, Sean “Diddy” Combs was found guilty on two charges of transporting someone to engage in prostitution and was given a sentence of 50 months, or little more than four years, in jail.

Judge Arun Subramanian pronounced the punishment in a New York City courthouse on Friday, October 3. Additionally, he fined Combs $500,000, the most amount he is permitted to impose.

Before imposing a sentence, Judge Subramanian clarified that he would take into account the “victims” in the case, such as singer Cassie and other male prostitutes, in addition to Diddy’s state of regret and actions following his acquittal on more serious counts of sex trafficking and racketeering. A pre-sentencing report that recommended Combs receive a term of 70–87 months, or somewhat less than six years to slightly more than seven years, was also endorsed by him.

The defense team for the founder of Bad Boy Records also showed the judge a heartfelt video in an attempt to get a lenient sentence. In it, Combs spoke to young people in New York City, worked in charity, and lamented the passing of his ex-girlfriend, Kim Porter. Additionally, he sent a letter expressing regret for the domestic abuse instances that came to light during his trial.

In the last thirteen months, I’ve had to face the mirror more than ever. I learned from my pain. I was motivated by my despair. My selfishness was the main cause of my demise, I must confess. Every day, the scenario and pictures of me attacking Cassie replay in my mind. I really went crazy. I was completely mistaken to touch the woman I loved. I apologize and always will for that.

Even though Puff seemed to be expressing regret, Cassie made sure to voice her displeasure that the mogul would be freed because of time served, referring to him as “the manipulator, the aggressor, the abuser, the trafficker” in her own statement to the judge. Combs still got support, though, from his family and celebrities like Yung Miami, his ex-girlfriend who submitted a statement in support of the mogul, and producer Dallas Austin, who appeared in court for the sentencing.
