Bad Bunny Will Star in the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio in Puerto Rico, the 31-year-old rapper and singer-songwriter confirmed the news in a statement, praising his tremendous accomplishment of getting the huge gig, which will take place during the Super Bowl LX game on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

“I’m feeling more than myself,” he stated. For those who sprinted countless yards before me so that I could come in and score a touchdown, it’s for you. This is in honor of my people, our history, and our culture. We’re going to be the Super Bowl Halftime Show, so we’re letting you know. You should go inform your grandmother that we will be the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

In his own statement, rapper Jay Z, the NFL’s live music entertainment strategist, added: “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring.” Having him on the biggest stage in the world is an honor.

The announcement was made during Sunday’s (28.09.25) Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers game. A teaser video featuring Bad Bunny sitting on a goal post on a beach was posted on social media.

It comes after the performer disclosed that he had chosen to skip the US portion of his next tour due to concerns that ICE officials might target his performances.

The following post on X hinted at his upcoming Super Bowl announcement: “I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States.”

Bad Bunny earlier gave an explanation for his decision to skip the US tour, stating that he has always had “magnificent” performances in the US and that none of his reasons for staying away from the country were motivated by hate.

He told i-D magazine, “Man, honestly, yes,” when asked if he declined to bring his tour to the US due to “concern about [the mass deportations of] Latinos in the United States.” I have performed in the United States numerous times, therefore I didn’t turn up for a variety of reasons, none of which were motivated by hatred.

“[The shows] have all been successful.” Each one of them has been outstanding.

“I’ve had fun making connections with Latinos who have been residing in the United States, but particularly for a residency here in Puerto Rico, which is an unincorporated territory of the United States. The show was open to visitors from the United States.

Americans who are Puerto Rican or Latino may also visit this country or any other country in the world.

There was the problem, though, that ICE might be outside [my concert]. And it’s something we discussed and were rather worried about.

In November, Bad Bunny is scheduled to embark on his Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour in the Dominican Republic, followed by stops in Costa Rica and Mexico.

He has 57 events scheduled, including stops in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Australia, Spain, England, and Belgium. On July 22, 2026, he will wrap up his tour.
