Lady Gaga Releases “The Dead Dance” From “Wednesday”

Mother Monster wrote the suspenseful song for the second season of Tim Burton’s popular Gothic thriller on Netflix.

Gaga says, “I came alive when you killed me inside,” over a tempo reminiscent of the Michael Jackson song.

“You have created a creature of the night, and now I haunt your eyes, soul, and air.”

Additionally, a dramatic music video directed by Burton is reportedly in the works.

“Even though I was only a small part of the show, I had a wonderful time working on Wednesday season two,” Gaga, who will also make a cameo this season, said last week at Spotify and Netflix’s Wednesday Graveyard Gala in New York City.

“Working with Tim Burton, Jenna Ortega, Wednesday Addams, and everyone else here was amazing. Much obliged. I am also here to confirm the release of my song, The Dead Dance.

As a guest appearance, the Abracadabra hitmaker will play Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary teacher at Nevermore Academy whose enigmatic past is interwoven with Ortega’s Wednesday.

The song was co-written with her Mayhem partners Andrew Watt and Cirkut, according to Variety.

Gaga’s role was further fueled when she and Wednesday filmmaker Burton were seen working on Mexico’s notorious Island of the Dolls, a spooky location replete with deformed dolls and eerie legend. Burton lauded Gaga, saying, “Working with her is endlessly inspiring. She’s such an artist.”

“I don’t want to give away anything about being part of the show,” Gaga said to Entertainment Weekly after receiving the job earlier this year.

“I love Jenna, and I had a great time, but I want to keep it extra secret!”

The popular dance from the show performed to Gaga’s 2011 smash song Bloody Mary before her appearance in season two.
