Lookman was added to the Atlanta Champions League team amid transfer rumors
The 2025–26 UEFA Champions League group stage, which begins later this month, has seen the official announcement of the Italian team Atalanta’s roster.
A prominent addition is Ademola Lookman, a forward from Nigeria whose future was the focus of much conjecture during the summer transfer window. The 26-year-old was never thought to be interested in moving to the Turkish Super League, despite what some publications claimed.
Bayern Munich made a loan bid with a buyout clause to Atalanta during the last 48 hours of the transfer window, but the Serie A team quickly turned down the offer. Inter Milan even made an official proposal to sign Lookman, bringing him extremely close to joining them. All attempts were met with resistance from Atalanta, who reiterated their resolve to retain the winger as a vital component of their European campaign.
