Taylor Swift Breaks the Record on Spotify

Taylor Swift’s upcoming album has shattered a Spotify record even prior to its official release.

The Karma singer has recently announced that her 12th studio LP, The Life Of A Showgirl, will be released on 3 October, and the streaming service disclosed on Monday that the record is already making history.

An announcement on the Spotify Instagram account stated: “On August 31st, 2025, Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ achieved the record for the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in Spotify history.”

The former record was likewise held by the 35-year-old artist for her 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department.

Taylor has set multiple records on Spotify in recent years, including being recognized as their most-streamed artist of the previous year.

The Life of a Showgirl showcases a prominent use of the color orange in its artwork and promotional materials. The Blank Space hitmaker recently shared that this hue reflects her emotions while creating the record during The Eras Tour, which she described as “exuberant and electric and vibrant.”

While on the New Heights podcast with her fiancé Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce, Taylor was asked about the meaning of the color orange, to which she responded: “I’ve just always liked it … It reflects the energetic essence of my life – this album delves into the experiences and emotions that were unfolding within me during [The Eras Tour], a time that was filled with exuberance, electricity, and vibrancy.

Taylor also talked about the album’s artwork, which features her in a jeweled costume submerged in a bath, and revealed that the image symbolizes her at the conclusion of a concert night, as she always finishes with a soak in the tub.

She articulated, “This signifies the conclusion of my evening … My show days are consistent each day; the only variation is the city I’m in. And my day concludes with me in a bathtub – not typically in a bedazzled dress … The album captures the essence of life beyond the show … It encompasses all that transpired behind the scenes.

Taylor discussed reuniting with producers Max Martin and Shellback for her 12th studio LP, having previously collaborated with them on her albums Red, 1989, and Reputation.

She mentioned, “One aspect of this record is that it’s a project I created alongside my mentor Max Martin and Shellback.” The three of us have created some of my all-time favorite songs.

“They were my primary partners on my Red album.” We performed “We Are Never Getting Back Together,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “22,” “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Style,” “Wildest Dreams,” “Ready for It,” and “Delicate.”

She remarked about the paid: “They’re simply brilliant.”
