Lil Nas X Allegedly Experienced ‘Breakdown’ From Pressure of Being Family Provider

Lil Nas X’s father believes that the music star experienced a “breakdown” as a result of the stress associated with being the family “breadwinner”.

The 26-year-old rapper known for “Old Town Road” was arrested in Los Angeles last week while walking in his underwear. He is now facing charges related to his interaction with the police. His father, Robert Stafford, believes that the pressures of his son’s music career, combined with the stress of his mother’s addiction issues, became too much to handle.

He stated to The Times newspaper: “For a 26-year-old to face what he’s facing – to be the primary provider for many, the struggle to alter his mother’s circumstances, and the self-imposed pressure he experiences …

“The challenges with his mother can be quite burdensome on your heart.”

Robert recounted the emotional conversation he had with his son during his visit to jail, stating: “I went to visit him in jail and as soon as I walked through that door, I couldn’t do anything but cry.”

“To see my little boy on the other side of that glass.” We shared a moment of tears together. I had to explain to him, ‘What you’re experiencing is completely normal.’

“We all experience breakdowns from time to time, but the distinction lies in the fact that yours unfold in the public eye.”

“During my visit, he requested that I say: ‘Please tell everyone I’m sorry they had to see me like that’.” In that moment, he found himself apologizing to others for his own struggles.

Lil Nas X, 26, faces three counts of battery with injury against a police officer and one felony count of resisting an executive officer following an incident in which he reportedly charged at officials.

The music star, known as Montero Lamar Hill, spent three days in jail before entering a not guilty plea during a court appearance. He was subsequently released after posting bail in the amount of $75,000.

District Attorney Nathan J Hochman of LA County stated regarding the case: “Attacking police officers is more than just a crime against those individuals but a direct threat to public safety.”

Nonetheless, Lil Nas X’s attorney Christy O’Connor described the incident as a “absolute aberration” for the artist. The legal representative stated: “If the allegations are indeed true, this represents a significant deviation in this individual’s life.”

In a story shared on his Instagram account, Lil Nas X stated: “Your girl is gonna be OK, y’all.” That was absolutely terrifying. That was absolutely frightening. The last four days were quite frightening, but I assure you, I’m going to be just fine.
