UEFA Changes the Start Time for the Champions League Final for Fans

UEFA has made a big change to its most important competition: starting with the 2026 final in Budapest, the Champions League will start at 6:00 PM CET instead of 9:00 PM CET.

The governing body made the choice because they want to make the event easier for people to get to and more family-friendly. They also want to make match days better for fans, teams, and host cities.

By moving the final up three hours, UEFA hopes to improve both the mood inside and outside the stadium and make things run more smoothly. The earlier start time should make it easier for people to get to the games, make it easier for host towns to work together, and get more families and younger fans to attend.

The Champions League final has always been held in the evening, so this is a big change from the past. UEFA thinks that the change will not make the show less impressive, but rather bring in more people and set a new standard for the season’s most important club football match.
