Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Declare Their Engagement
The pop star, 35, announced on Instagram that she accepted the NFL player’s romantic forest proposal.
Taylor said, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” as the caption for a set of romantic pictures she shared on Tuesday, August 26.
Since they began dating in 2023, Taylor and Travis, 35, have been frequent attendees at Kansas City Chiefs games, where Kelce plays tight end. Last year, he frequently attended her performances on The Eras Tour.
Although the couple had been dating in private for a few months prior, their relationship was first made public in September 2023 when Taylor was seen in the crowd at one of Kelce’s games.
Swift had previously been involved with a number of well-known people, such as actor Joe Alwyn and former One Direction singer Harry Styles. However, earlier this month, she disclosed that Travis was the man she had been imagining in several of her popular songs.
“If this guy isn’t crazy, this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager,” she stated when she appeared on Travis and his brother Jason Kelce’s podcast, New Heights.
Taylor was moved by Travis’s traditional attempts to win her attention and likened them to being in a John Hughes film.
The Love Story singer remarked, “This dude didn’t get a meet and greet and he’s making it everyone’s problem,” in reference to Travis’ unsuccessful attempt to get a friendship bracelet he made her lead to a meet and greet on New Heights.
That’s what I initially believed. He didn’t even contact our management, as you can see. Because he knows the elevator attendant, he believed he could talk to her about simply going to my dressing room when he arrived with Pat [Mahomes].
“It was more like I was in a John Hughes film from the 1980s, and he was outside my window with a boombox saying, ‘I want to date you!'” she added. Would you like to join me for a date? I created a friendship bracelet for you! Are you interested in dating me?
