Cardi B Talks About Arguments With Younger Rappers
Cardi B is “sick” of being made fun of by female rappers.
The WAP hitmaker has spoken up about the conflicts she has had with up-and-coming musicians in her genre. Her much anticipated second studio album, Am I The Drama?, will be released on September 19.
“It’s like, ‘Damn, does drama chase me?'” she said in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music. Or am I the drama?
I firmly believe that I was endowed with an anointed light from birth. Although the light might be wonderful at times, it can also disturb people’s tranquility. People are drawn to me by it, and it won’t always work out well. People might find that light bothersome. Perhaps it’s too loud or too bright. For me, it has always been this way.
According to the 32-year-old celebrity, young female artists should criticize their peers rather than “seniors” if they are going to do so.
“There are many different female rappers in the industry, but for some reason, there’s something about me that these b******s can’t stand,” she claimed, omitting names.
They are unable to f*** with me. Some b*****s, who are sophomores and I’m a senior, seem to be in this class right now. And you feel like you really want to have sex with the senior. You believe the senior is with you. You’re not a junior at all. Before you start thinking about the f****** senior, you should worry about the other sophomores.
“It’s something about [me] that it’s like, they can’t even focus on them,” she added.
They had to pay attention to me. And they always have to concentrate on hurling slings and guns at me. and I’m tired of it. F*** you, f*** everyone, is how it feels.
Cardi appears to be alluding to her online arguments with people like Bia, Akbar V, and JT (City Girls).
