Wole Soyinka Presents “Myth, Literature, and the African World” to Brazilian President Lula

Wole Soyinka presented his book, Myth, Literature & the African World, to Brazilian President Lula during Tinubu’s state visit.

President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to Brazil coincided with Nigerian Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka’s meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Monday.

Mito, Literatura e o Mundo Africano (Myth, Literature & the African World), which highlights Africa’s rich literary and cultural legacy, was presented to President Lula by Soyinka at the meeting.

The meeting highlights the deepening cultural and diplomatic relations between Nigeria and Brazil after decades of historical, social, and economic ties. Through her exploration of African mythology, literature, and their worldwide significance, Soyinka offers Brazilian leaders a window into the creative and intellectual traditions of the continent.

Soyinka’s meeting with President Lula signifies the significance of literature and the arts in international relations, while President Tinubu’s state visit has concentrated on strengthening bilateral relations, including trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

In order to strengthen the Nigeria-Brazil alliance, the visit was characterized by talks on cooperation in fields like education, cultural exchange, and mutual support in international forums.
