Legendary musician 2Baba quietly gets married after divorcing Annie Macaulay
African music icon Innocent Idibia, better known by his stage as 2Baba, married Nigerian politician Natasha Osawaru in a low-key traditional ceremony a few months after announcing his divorce from Annie Macaulay Idibia, his wife of almost 12 years.

The wedding, which was held in a private setting, was initially publicized online on Thursday. Pictures of the event went viral on X (previously Twitter), eliciting conflicting responses from followers.
“Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while and have filed for divorce,” the “African Queen” singer wrote on Instagram on January 26, 2025, confirming his separation from Annie, as revealed by The Sauce earlier this year. Days before he proposed to Natasha on Valentine’s Eve, he made this declaration, which sparked rumors about their relationship.

With 2Baba wearing a traditional Nigerian costume and Natasha wearing a red beaded wrapper and coral beads, the newlyweds were seen wearing traditional attire, indicating a full-fledged Benin traditional wedding.
Although there have been earlier reports of Natasha’s relationship with 2Baba, the lawmaker and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member has generally maintained a low profile.
The singer’s turbulent marriage to Annie Idibia has garnered a lot of attention over the years, including on the Netflix reality TV show “Western and Famous.” After being married in 2012, the couple had two kids together, but 2Baba has seven kids overall with three women. 2Baba’s previous relationships and public scandals were among the numerous ups and downs throughout their marriage.
