Zelenskiy said that his first conversation with Polish President-elect Nawrocki went well
Polish President-elect Karol Nawrocki, who is scheduled to take office next week, said he had a positive first conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Thursday.
Zelenskiy stated on Telegram, “We trust that Poland will continue to be our reliable partner and ally,” highlighting the significance of ongoing political, military, and humanitarian assistance for Ukraine in its struggle against Russia’s invasion.
The two men had decided to make official visits to one other’s nations, Zelenskiy continued.
Nawrocki has stated that he is against Ukraine joining NATO and the EU, despite his support for Ukraine’s struggle against Russia. He has also brought up concerns about Poland and Ukraine remembering their historical disputes.
“Karol Nawrocki emphasized that he speaks for a country that wants Ukraine to reform how it handles significant and as-yet-unresolved historical issues. “This needs to change,” Nawrocki spokesperson Rafal Leskiewicz wrote.
The “subject of further discussions” between the leaders would be this, he said.
