Manchester United stop chasing for Chelsea striker Nicholas Jackson
Nicolas Jackson, a forward for Chelsea, reportedly lost interest in Manchester United when the Senegal international’s salary demands were too high for the Red Devils to accept on personal terms.
Amorim is eager to add speed and adaptability to his front line, thus the 24-year-old was considered as a possible target to strengthen United’s attacking options before the new season. Last season, Jackson scored 14 goals across all competitions for Chelsea, making him one of the few forwards with Premier League experience and growth potential on the market.
However, sources familiar with the negotiations disclosed that when Jackson’s representatives demanded a compensation package that was much more than United’s suggested structure for the player, the talks came to a standstill. The club was unwilling to deviate from their updated salary policy, even though they recognized the striker’s potential—especially for a player who isn’t a sure starter.
If the appropriate deal came up, Chelsea was willing to let Jackson go, especially after bolstering their own assault this summer with fresh additions.
As they continue to restructure their team for a more competitive season, Manchester United is anticipated to focus on other targets throughout Europe now that Jackson is off the table.
