President Tinubu grants Super Falcons players and officials a national honor

President Bola Tinubu awarded the Super Falcons the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger after they won the just finished Africa Women’s Nations Cup, which was held in Morocco.

The players and officials were received at the Presidential Villa by President Tinubu, who also announced that the technical staff would receive $50,000 and each of the 24 players would receive $100,000.

Each athlete received a three-bedroom apartment from him as well.

The Nigerian Governors Forum also gave each team member a gift of 10 million dollars, through its chairman, Abdulrahman AbdulRasaq, who is also the governor of Kwara State.

The Super Falcons defeated host Morocco 3-2 on Saturday to win their tenth WAFCON championship after rallying from a two-goal deficit in the final.
