Morocco is the first team to arrive in Kenya in CHAN 2024
In Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on Saturday, August 02, 2025, the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda 2024 will get underway.
Morocco, the current winners, arrive in Nairobi, Kenya first.
Morocco is one of the competition’s most successful countries, having taken home the trophy twice in a succession in 2018 and 2021, both in Cameroon.
Only two nations have won the title twice, including DR Congo, who they will play in this year’s group round.
The Atlas Lions have been assigned to a difficult Group A, which also includes hosts Kenya, Angola, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
To start their campaign, they will play Angola at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.
The remaining Group A teams, Zambia, Angola, and DR Congo, are expected to arrive in Nairobi in the coming days.
On Tuesday, Zambia will land, followed by the DRC and Angola on Thursday afternoon.
There are sixteen competing National Teams. Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda are co-hosts of TotalEnergies CHAN PAMOJA 2024.
In close coordination with the three Local Organising Committees (LOC), CAF has been working to ensure a seamless welcome, including final registration, logistics, and match-readiness briefings.
