Bravo star Janet Caperna leaves the US after viewers threaten her life
Janet Caperna, a highly debated figure on “The Valley,” has left the United States and secured her social media accounts following death threats and ongoing harassment from viewers.
This week, the 35-year-old reality TV star, known for her role as the main antagonist on the Bravo reality show, traveled to Switzerland with her husband, Jason, and their 18-month-old son, Cameron.
Janet Caperna faced the challenging choice to protect her Instagram page, which had been a target of persistent harassment from online trolls.
‘The Valley’ star Janet Caperna is leaving the U.S. following death threats and has secured her social media accounts.
Through a series of despicable messages, these trolls directed their attacks not only at Caperna but also at her child.
One message stated, “I hope you rot like you deserve,” while another harshly expressed, “I hope your child grows up absolutely hating you.”
Even more unsettling, some individuals took it a step further by writing, “I know where you live.” I have observed the places your son visits in your absence.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Janet addressed the ongoing abuse, denouncing the severity and peril of online trolling. “I’m tired of threats and slurs being accepted as normal just because ‘we signed up for this when we joined reality TV,’” she stated. “That’s unacceptable and far from normal, and I will never pretend it’s normal or acceptable to send threats and slurs to strangers.”
Janet disclosed that the circumstances have significantly impacted her mental well-being. “It’s disheartening to see people take it to this extent; it truly is the most challenging aspect of this ‘job.’”
She highlighted that although she recognizes the criticism that reality TV can attract, there is a boundary that must not be crossed. “This does not qualify as constructive feedback.” “I realize that I expose my life to the public, but this situation is different,” she clarified.
Caperna Unveils Alarming Death Threats
In the most recent episode of her podcast, “This Side of the Hill,” Janet delved deeper, revealing some of the most troubling messages she had encountered.
One particularly distressing message stated, “I hope you die a slow and painful death, you are so ugly.” Are you truly a man? Your actions are reprehensible, and I harbor deep animosity towards you.
Another remarked, “It’s unfortunate your son is still alive, you little [racial slur] lover.”
Janet Caperna Stunned by Online Hostility from ‘Typical’ Women
Janet and her podcast co-host, Jared Lipscomb, were perhaps even more taken aback by the revelation that a significant number of the hateful messages originated from women who appeared to be “normal and sweet.”
One of the women who sent threatening messages was a family photographer, while another, who made crude remarks about Janet’s son, had photos of herself with her own young child on social media.
Janet’s frustration and sadness regarding the situation have led her to contemplate the contrast between people’s behavior in real life and online.
“It makes me ponder, how many individuals I encounter throughout my day might be experiencing this behind closed doors?” she remarked. “When I’m at the grocery store checkout, I wonder if that person is messaging someone they don’t actually dislike.”
In a twist of events, Janet also addressed a past friendship involving someone who had engaged with disparaging remarks about her on the internet.
She alluded to Kristen Doute, another co-star, who had reacted to a comment that questioned the safety of Janet’s child with a laughing emoji. “I find that incredibly disappointing,” Janet remarked.
Supporters Demand the Dismissal of Caperna and Jax Taylor
At the same time, “The Valley” is approaching the conclusion of its thrilling second season and is preparing for the third season. Supporters have expressed their opinions on social media, demanding the dismissal of both Janet and the longtime antagonist Jax Taylor.
