Semenyo makes a promise to Bournemouth
Antoine Semenyo has signed a new contract with Bournemouth that will keep him there until June 2030, securing his long-term future.
The Ghanaian international joined the first squad in January 2023 after moving from Bristol City to the Vitality Stadium. In 89 games in all competitions, he has scored 22 goals and provided 10 assists.
After having his greatest season in a Cherries shirt last season, scoring 11 goals in 37 Premier League games to assist Andoni Iraola’s team equal their best-ever finish of ninth and establish a new record of points achieved (56), Semenyo had been linked to Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham.
However, by offering the 25-year-old winger a fresh five-year contract, the south coast team has repelled possible interest from its top-flight rivals.
Semenyo said on the team’s official website, “I’ve grown so much at the club, both on and off the pitch, and I’m really happy to have signed ahead of returning for pre-season.”
“I can’t say enough good things about everyone at the club, from the supporters to the employees and my teammates. With the new season quickly approaching, I can’t wait to return to Bournemouth and continue the hard work. It’s a terrific place to be.
“Antoine is an important part of the project here at Vitality Stadium and has been essential to the club’s progress,” said Tiago Pinto, President of Football Operations at Bournemouth.
As we strive to build on a season that broke records, we are looking forward to maintaining our excellent relationship with Antoine. His dedication to the team aligns with our goals, and as we get ready for the upcoming season, I’m eager to see what we can accomplish.
