Juma Jux Describes Various Wedding Rituals with Priscy Ojo: Civil, Christian, and Islamic
Juma Jux Explains Why He Conducted Christian and Islamic Wedding Ceremonies
Their Christian wedding in Nigeria following their Islamic wedding generated the greatest discussion on the internet.
Tanzanian musician Juma Jux has discussed his choice to marry Nigerian media personality Priscy Ojo in 2025 with several ceremonies that span several cultures and religions.
The ‘God Design’ hitmaker claimed in an exclusive interview with Wasafi FM that despite the couple’s disparate religious origins, love and respect for one another drove them through every stage of their journey.
Jux stated, “I think we have one God first and foremost.”
We will celebrate our anniversary on the same day as our Nikkah ceremony because our wedding was an Islamic ceremony. Hadiza Mkambala, an Islamic wedding name, was even given to her. After their Islamic marriage, Jux made sure it was formally recognized in Tanzania by holding a civil ceremony.
In order for her to be seen as Tanzanian, I also performed a civic wedding, which is a government wedding. He clarified that marrying someone from a different nation had certain advantages.
In addition, Jux disclosed that he upgraded Priscy’s engagement ring and proposed to her a second time after the Nikkah. Their traditional wedding ceremony reflected their African roots.
However, their Christian wedding in Nigeria—which Jux claims was arranged at Priscy’s family’s request—generated the greatest discussion on the internet.
We were asked to have a Christian wedding because her family is Christian. My wife had already converted, so we had a garden wedding instead of a church wedding,” he explained.
The rings were identical. They simply received prayers. It all came down to being blessed. In 2025, the couple’s lavish wedding ceremony lasted for several months. On February 7, they had a Nikkah ceremony in Dar es Salaam, and on February 13, they were married civilly.
Following that, the festivities shifted to Nigeria for a white wedding on April 19 and a traditional wedding in Lagos on April 17. On May 28, the couple celebrated their extravagant union with a grandiose reception in Tanzania.
