Jeezy claims that JAY-Z deleted his verse from Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love”

“Tell Bey we need to put that out!”

Atlanta rapper Jeezy has spoken out about how her husband, fellow musician JAY-Z, took her off of Beyoncé’s song “Drunk In Love.”

On Carmelo Anthony’s 7PM In Brooklyn podcast, the Southern spitter revealed the information. He recalled creating the Beyoncé album single and admitted that he “dropped the ball” in the end. Additionally, Hov was considerate enough to inform him that his verse had been cut and that he would now hop on the mid-tempo hit instead.

“When I wrote my verse for ‘Drunk In Love’ for Beyoncé, I made a mistake,” Jeezy recalls. I got a call from Hov. “I took you off the song,” he says. I am, by the way, on there. He said, “I was like, ‘I figured that.'” The lost verse is “on someone’s drive.” Inform Bey that we must release that. There is some vintage to it.

Jeezy continued by disclosing that, in spite of his numerous collaborations, he has only ever been in the studio with JAY-Z in person once, and that was during the composition session for “Drunk In Love.” The Snowman says he might have been a bit too forceful with his verse, which is why it was changed.

“You got something for this?” she asked him as he entered the room. I’m going in, you know. It sounded insane. I’m simply trying to go hard, but this is her music. “Oh nah,” he probably thought. We won’t release that.
