Cristiano Ronaldo says he has no intentions to become a coach
Cristiano Ronaldo renewed his dedication to Saudi Arabia by signing a new two-year extension with Al-Nassr. He will stay with the Saudi Pro League club until 2027, which is his 42nd birthday.
Ronaldo said after signing the contract that he had been offered spots in the FIFA Club World Cup that was still going on, but he turned them down to stay healthy for what could be his last World Cup in 2026.
The famous Portuguese player said, “I’m not just coming to play football.” “I play to make the country and culture better.” I’m a part of that process, which is why I say I belong to Saudi Arabia. I was born in Portugal, but I live in Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo praised the changes that are happening in the Gulf country and said that he admired its leaders.
“I plan to be a part of the growth of the country [Saudi], and I will definitely be on its side,” he said. “I want to help change how people think about Saudi Arabia.”
When asked about his future in the game, the 40-year-old ruled out becoming a coach: “To be a coach? I’m sure I’ll never be a coach. The word “never” sounds strong, but I’ve never planned to do that in five, ten, or twenty years.
The forward has played for Real Madrid, Manchester United, and other teams, scoring over 930 goals in his career. He also said that his focus will stay on club and country for the next few seasons, with the 2026 World Cup in North America in mind.
