Pogba signs a two-year contract with Monaco after the doping the ban

AS Monaco announced on Saturday that Paul Pogba had signed a two-year contract and joined on a free transfer.

The French midfielder, 32, is hoping to resume his career following a doping ban.

Following a free transfer from Manchester United in 2022, the 2018 World Cup winner returned to Juventus, although his second stint there was a disappointment because of injuries.

In 2016, United signed Pogba for a then-record-breaking 89 million pounds ($122 million).

French midfielder Paul Pogba, 32, joined AS Monaco on a free transfer on Saturday and signed a two-year contract in an effort to resume his career following a doping ban.

Pogba was banned from doping for four years in February 2024 after testing positive for DHEA, which increases testosterone levels.

Due to an appeal that was successful at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the penalty was reduced to 18 months.

In November, Juventus, an Italian team, announced that they had mutually decided to terminate his contract, which was scheduled to expire in June 2026.

Following his 2022 free transfer back to Juventus from Manchester United, the 2018 World Cup winner had a dismal second term with the Turin-based squad due to injuries.

Pogba, a four-time Serie A champion, signed with United in 2016 for a then-record-breaking 89 million pounds ($122 million), although in his first season, he only won two titles with the Premier League team: the League Cup and European Championship.

He last represented France in 2022, but knee surgery prevented him from going to the World Cup in Qatar.

After Ligue 1 winners Paris St-Germain and Olympique de Marseille, Monaco finished third last season.
