Tinubu meets with President Nguema of Gabon

Tinubu welcomed Brice Oligui Nguema, the president of Gabon, in Abuja, where they talked about regional stability, commerce, and investment.

President Bola Tinubu hosted President Brice Oligui Nguema of Gabon at the State House in Abuja on Friday. The two leaders discussed ways to develop economic cooperation and improve diplomatic ties between Nigeria and the Central African country.

With both countries aiming for deeper diplomatic and investment-driven ties, the closed-door encounter signaled a fresh push for broader South-South engagement.

President Nguema stressed the value of regional collaborations for sustainable development while restating Gabon’s dedication to close collaboration with Nigeria in an interview with reporters at the Presidential Villa following the meeting.

We support South-South cooperation, and we think it will benefit Nigerian businesses to invest in Gabon,” he stated. Gabon is currently experiencing great success, and we hope to capitalize on this by attracting foreign investment into our mineral and oil industries.

President Nguema urged Nigerian investors to seize the chances in Gabon’s extractive industry and other sectors, calling the country a “oil magnate” with abundant natural resources.

Sources claim that the meeting shows that both nations are interested in promoting stability throughout the Central African area, strengthening political collaboration, and fostering economic progress.

His trip to Nigeria is a component of ongoing initiatives to draw foreign direct investment for Gabon’s growth and strengthen the country’s diplomatic ties within Africa.

Earlier this year, Nguema took the oath of office as Gabon’s president after winning the election.
